Jasmin Novenstern

I joined the Trost Lab in July 2024 to undertake a summer research project funded by the Research Scholarship from Newcastle University. The project investigated the CD97 receptor on the surface of macrophages. Following this, I decided to stay in Matthias’ lab for my final year of my MSci in Biomedical Sciences, where I will be mapping the macrophage response to immunologically silent and non-silent forms of cell death as part of my dissertation.
Prior to joining the lab, I completed my undergraduate research project on the subject of drug discovery in human cancer, investigating the WIP1 oncoprotein as a therapeutic target for combination treatment. I also undertook a professional work placement at B Braun Medical Ltd in Sheffield as a value & access intern for a year, between my second and third years of the degree.
