Dr Tiaan Heunis

I joined Matthias’ lab in February 2018 as a postdoctoral researcher to work on ubiquitylation in macrophages. I obtained my PhD in Microbiology at Stellenbosch University in South Africa, followed by postdoctoral research at the Stellenbosch node of the DST/NRF Centre of Excellence for Biomedical Tuberculosis Research for 4 years. During my previous postdoc I used mass spectrometry-based proteomics to characterise the proteomes of clinical Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates and to study the interaction of this pathogen with its host.

Tiaan has moved to the Dunn School at Oxford University.
