Leonie Müller

I joined the Trost lab in September 2020. I am a PhD student funded by GlaxoSmithKline and part of the Molecular Sciences for Medicine programme (EPSRC CDT). I will develop drug discovery assays for primary human immune cells by high-throughput MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry.

Prior to joining the lab, I studied in the field of Biology at the University of Bremen in Germany and finished my Bachelor of Science by publishing my thesis on the synthetic cannabinoid WIN55,212-2, which elicits death in human cancer cell lines. Afterwards, I completed my Master of Science in the field of Neurosciences with distinction at the University of Bremen with an internship at the Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, where I investigated the effects of stress on a mouse breast cancer model. I conducted my Master thesis, which focussed on the characterisation of Piezo1 modifiers in neurons, at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, Germany.
